Chris Rock is an American comedian, actor and filmmaker known for starring in movies such as Madagascar, Grown Ups, and The Longest Yard

Chris Rock is an American comedian, actor and filmmaker. The all-round star is most famous for his comedy skits on Saturday Night Live (SNL) and starring in movies such as Madagascar, Grown Ups, and The Longest Yard

Rock was at the height of public attention in March after he was slapped by big-time actor Will Smith at the Oscars.

The incident happened after the comedian made a quip about Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett-Smith whilst giving out the presentation for Best Documentary Feature.

However, the episode at the Oscars isn't the only reason Chris Rock has been in the public eye of late, as many have suspected a romantic relationship between the comedian and actress Lake Bell after they shared a dreamy trip together to Europe this weekend.

With Rock at the centre of public attention, many are wondering how much the celebrity is currently worth…

What Is Chris Rock’s Net Worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Chris Rock is worth an impressive $40 million (£34 million).

Making Rock one of the highest-paid comedians in the world

So when and where did Chris Rock’s success begin? The 57-year-old first became known as one of the main faces on the long-running comedy show Saturday Night Live, where he appeared among other comedy icons such as Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider and David Spade.

While he was at SNL he released his first comedy album, Born Suspect.

However, the comedian made his real breakthrough in 1996 when his talents were recognised by HBO, and the service released Bring in the Pain, a comedy special starring Rock.

The star subsequently won two Emmy Awards and widespread praise for the show.

Since then, Rock signed a deal with Netflix which led to the creation of Chris Rock: Tamborine in 2018.

The comedian was reportedly paid $20 million for the deal.

However, comedy is just one side of the coin for Chris Rock, as he is also well known for his acting career.

He most recently starred in the American horror movie Spiral which is a spin-off from the terrifying Saw series.
