Cardi B has deleted her Twitter account after skipping the 2022 Grammy Awards which caused an online spat with her fans.

While Cardi was nominated for the Best Rap Performance at the 64th Grammy Awards last night (3 April), she notably didn't attend the star-studded ceremony.

This sparked an online spat with fans which eventually lead to the WAP singer deleting her Twitter account following a foul-mouthed exchange with a number of Twitter users.

It all started with a number of tweets questioning why Cardi wasn't at the Grammys.

One user wrote on Twitter to the star: "I bet your son wouldn’t like for you to be on your a – – while teasing us fans and never dropping music", to which the rapper responded: "I hope your moms die".

A user shared the foul-mouthed exchange on Twitter, with the caption: "Cardi don't even like y'all LMAOO, just here for the money".

Another added: "My thing is, why hype us up if you know [you’re] not going [to the Grammys] from the jump?", while a third stated: "drop the f*cking album", to which Cardi replied "SUCK MY D*CK".

After majorly reacting to some of the users on Twitter, Cardi announced she would be deleting her account.

"I’m deleting my Twitter On God I hate this f****n dumbass fan base," she wrote.

"You got the slow dumbasses dragging my kids all cause y’all [thought] I was going to the Grammys and I didn’t the f**k? When the f**k I hinted I was going? just f****n stupid I can't I needs to protect myself."

Another user shared further screenshots of the exchange from Cardi's since deleted account.

They noted: "its clear cardi is the problem, she's even problematic with her own fans... i mean their your fans why are you mad that they asking for the album?...she scared its gonna flop thats why".

However, Cardi took to Instagram Live after deleting her Twitter account to clear some things up.

"I’m doing girl-day s**t today, right? And I’m chilling and everything and then I’m going through my Twitter, and I see people in my Twitter—my fans, my own f******g fans—talking s**t like, ‘Oh.’ Practically saying that I’m lazy, and that I was giving hints that I was going to the Grammys.

"B***h, how the f**k was I giving hints that I’m going to the Grammys when I literally lasering and bleaching my p***y on my Insta story?"

Cardi went on to explain that she was in New York and her kids could be heard in the background, so proceeded to ask fans why she would go to an awards show at that moment, according to reports from Complex.
