Hogwarts Legacy - one of the most popular video games of the year so far - is introducing an 'Arachnophobia Mode' after some players were left traumatized.

Set before the events of Harry Potter, Hogwarts Legacy allows users to attend Hogwarts for themselves as a student in the 1800s.

Players can customize their characters, choose a Hogwarts house and learn how to expand magical abilities by attending classes, as well as exploring beyond the castle to familiar locations from the Harry Potter world.

Since its release in February, Warner Bros have smashed a bunch of records with the Harry Potter IP, with it making a staggering $850 million in just its first two weeks on the market.

That made it the biggest global launch for the Warner Bros Discovery-owned brand.

Hogwarts Legacy, for the most part, is loved by fans and critics, with an impressive 93 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Despite all that, arachnophobes have struggled to enjoy the game up until this point due to the sheer number of spiders in it.

Of course, fans of Harry Potter could have guessed that Hogwarts Legacy would feature a bunch of spiders, but some called for an 'Arachnophobia Mode'.

One person on Twitter tagged Warner Bros. Games Support, writing: "@WBGamesSupport hi there! Do you know whether there will be a spider patch for hogwarts legacy. I’m struggling to get past the the spider quest due to my acrophobia."

The page then responded with: "Thanks for your interest in seeing an arachnophobia mode in Hogwarts Legacy!

"While we don't have any info on future updates, we'll be happy to pass your feedback along to the Game Team. If there is anything else we can help with, please don't hesitate to let us know!"

Now, nearly three months after launch, Warner Bros are releasing a mode to help arachnophobic's enjoy Hogwarts Legacy without having to hide behind the couch every few minutes.

That is because, update 1.000.006, which is available now, introduces an 'Arachnophobia Mode' to the game.

When toggled in the accessibility menu, all enemy spiders will look rather different.

The spiders will be a thing of the past for those wishing to use the accessibility option.

Warner Bros. say the mode "changes all enemy spider appearances, reduces and removes spider skitters and screeches, [and] removes small spider ground effect spawners."

For further help, static spider corpses in the world of Hogwarts Legacy will turn invisible.

However, it is worth noting spider images in the Field Guide remain unchanged from this latest update.
