A man has revealed how he made nearly $72,000 in just six weeks from an idea he had while on a night out.

We've all had brilliant ideas after a day of drinking, but they usually involve ordering burgers and kebabs, or at least trying to down a pint of water before bed.

But Bailey Page, from Queensland, Australia, had an incredible idea after he encountered a problem during his night out.

It all started when Bailey found himself with a dead phone after a night out in 2020, which made calling a taxi impossible.

Stranded, Bailey had an idea - and it's since made him a decent pay packet.

The 20-year-old was forced to walk home, which got him thinking, could there be a way to charge your phone without carrying a huge battery pack around?

Bailey wanted to create a portable, cable-less phone charger that people could take around with them which wouldn't clutter up their pockets on a night out.

After getting home, he miraculously didn't forget about his new idea after the night out. He began researching online but he couldn't find what he was looking for.

So, deciding to go all in and try and make his idea a success, he ploughed all of his savings into creating one - and all while studying in his third year of college.

He even educated himself on power banks by watching videos on YouTube, before coming up with a cable-less charger that can be fixed to a phone.

"My third year essentially, I just had to focus on getting uni complete while I did my studies," Bailey told the Courier Mail.

"It was just a lot of late nights and weekend work to really cover up on what I couldn't do through the week when I was at uni. I thought to myself, you know what, if I failed, I at least had a go.

"I always encourage young people just to have a go. You have to put a plan on paper. It's always good to get outside eyes looking in and giving you feedback. You can never fail with starting and the biggest hurdle is actually just starting."

In Zip Zap's fifth week on the market, Bailey was invited onto Sunrise’s Sam Mac’s Plugapalooza segment, where his appearance turned the business around.

Just two days later and Bailey had sold 1,500 units across Australia, before going on to collaborate with huge sports stars such as Tate McDermott and Liam McWright.

Incredibly, Zip Zap earned nearly $72,000 in just six weeks and has gone on to smash through all of its targets since.
