Someone has finally made the most of the latest in AI technology to bring the people what they really want - a Mortal Kombat-style game where all the fighters are celebrities.
While the regular Mortal Kombat series has warrior monks, mystical monsters and, for some reason, a cowboy all fighting it out to prove which of your friends can mash buttons the best, this AI generated version takes people from the real world and makes them into fighters.
While the games did once try to get Jean Claude Van Damme into their roster, they were unsuccessful, resulting in the character of action movie star Johnny Cage.
Thing is, who'd want to play as a bunch of fake, made up characters when you could get Albert Einstein to throw hands with Mother Teresa using whatever superpowers they could conceivably wield.
Politicians, sports stars, musicians and even Gordon Ramsay are part of the 'celebrity' version of Mortal Kombat.
It'd also be a way to actually have that fight between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg which is probably not happening.
This way, each tech billionaire could just livestream themselves playing the game and fighting the other one through it using each of their avatars.
The AI has done some weird things to some of the fighters, however, with Zuckerberg having a disturbingly lizard-like quality to his skin.
Now all the video creator needs to do is sit back and wait for a game developer to get in touch with them for the idea.
This is because one of the most popular reactions to seeing AI generated celebrities duke it out Mortal Kombat style is: "I would play the s**t outta this game."
Let's face it, there's only so many times Kung Lao can throw around his hat before it wears a little thin, William Shakespeare and Pope Francis beating seven shades of s**t out of each other is much more novel.
Someone else said 'the real life aspect of this would make it much more hilarious and entertaining' and it's really hard to disagree with that stance.
Plenty had fun trying to guess what sort of powers and move sets the different celebrities would have, while others wondered who'd actually win if they all came to blows in real life.
While several fighters were ruled out of contention on account of being much too dead to win in a bout of fisticuffs, The Rock proved a popular suggestion for who would realistically win Celebrity Mortal Kombat.
