XXXTentacion's mom warns son's killers to 'keep firm grasp' of soap in prison

XXXTentacion was murdered in 2018 and three men were sentenced to life without parole yesterday, with a fourth awaiting sentencing

The mother of murdered rapper XXXTentacion has said she hopes her son’s murderers manage to keep a ‘firm grasp’ of the soap whilst they are in prison, as she clearly believes that they will become targets during their time inside.

On Thursday, Michael Boatwright, Trayvon Newsome and Dedrick Williams were all sentenced to life without parole for the 2018 robbery and shooting of the musician, whose real name was Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy.

The 20-year-old rapper was shot multiple times during the incident in Deerfield Beach, Florida on June 18 2018.

There is also a fourth man – Robert Allen - who has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to the incident, who has pleaded guilty but not yet been sentenced.

Speaking after the verdict, XXXTentacion’s mother Cleopatra told TMZ of her hopes for the men guilty of killing her son.

Reacting to allegations she made that Boatwright kept taunting her during the trial by blowing kisses at her, she said that she hopes that ‘Buttwright (not a typo) will now get the kiss he wants so bad’.

As for Newsome and Williams, she added: "My hope for these other gentlemen is they will retain a firm grasp on the slippery soap."

Obviously, she can be forgiven for being angry with the men who murdered her son.

She also clearly thinks they’ll be targeted inside the prison.

The men killed XXXTentacion after ambushing him in his car during the middle of the day, before shooting him and stealing $50,000 in cash and a Louis Vuitton bag.

After the sentencing, the late musician’s manager Solomon Sobande said: “This is a loss we will never truly recover from.

“We will never get to see Jahseh live to his full potential, we will never get to watch him grow old, we will never get to watch him be a father.”

The prosecution in the case relied on surveillance footage that showed two masked gunmen leaving a vehicle and confronting Onfroy at his driver-side window just after he’d left an autoshop, before one man shot him repeatedly.

Then, the men grabbed the cash which he had recently withdrawn from the bank and the designer bag before speeding off in the car.

A friend of Onfroy was in the car at the time, though he was not hurt.

Boatwright was identified as the main shooter in the attack, with Williams driving the SUV and Newsome accused of being the second gunman.

Allen is accused of being present at the time of the murder.
