A tourist who was enjoying a romantic holiday in Greece has been left fighting for her life after she collapsed moments after her boyfriend proposed.
The 24-year-old, originally from Czech Republic, is reported to have collapsed shortly after she was proposed to at the church of Prophet Elias in Egklouvi, Lefkada (Greece). The church is located on one of the island's highest points and is known to be a photogenic spot.
The pair had set out to visit the Prophet Elias church where the man had planned a proposal. However, moments after the man went down on one knee and the woman collapsed.
According to local reports, the man was deeply distressed and desperately seeking medical help for his partner. Local media in Greece have said that the fire service, paramedics and the army were all deployed to the scene, before the woman was rushed to Lefkada Hospital.

It is reported she was then transported to Ioannina, which is the capital of Epirus.
According to the DailyMail.com, initial tests have reported that the woman suffered from a cerebral hemorrhage.
A cerebral hemorrhage is a type of stroke, characterized by bleeding into the brain parenchyma.

UNILAD has reached out to Hellenic Police, in Athens, for comment.
A brain bleed refers to bleeding between the brain tissue and the skull, or from the inside of the brain tissue.
It is life threatening and requires urgent medical care.

Due to bleeds on the brain limiting oxygen supply, symptoms including headaches, nausea, vomiting, tingling or facial paralysis can be experienced.

Some of the most common causes of a brain hemorrhage include head trauma, high blood pressure, an aneurysm, blood vessel abnormalities, liver disease, brain tumours and amyloid angiopathy, which is a condition which can occur among adults with high blood pressure.
