Tributes have since been pouring in for the polo player who had an estimated net worth of around $1.2 billion.
Kapur was 'a visionary leader,' Sona Comstar said in a statement, adding that his 'passion, insight and dedication shaped the identity and success of our company'.
"He will be greatly missed not only by his family and friends but the local community around his club as he employed so many people and made so many friends – he was fun, kind and generous," a friend also shared in tribute to the news outlet.

The billionaire had attended the Doon School boarding school in northern India, which described Kapus as a 'passionate fitness and sport enthusiast and learner for life.'

After finishing his studies at the boarding school, Kapur went on to graduate from the University of Buckingham and took the reigns of his father Surinder Kapur's business after his death in 2015.
