The only son of Nicolás Maduro known as 'The Prince' has made a plea to the country of Venezuela after his father was captured by the US.
On Friday (January 2), now-former Venezuelan president Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were captured from their home in Caracas by US officials and transported to the states. 150 military aircraft were used by Delta Force to capture them in what was an extremely complicated operation.
Maduro was slapped with a series of criminal charges once he was on US soil, which were: narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, possession of machine guns and destructive devices, and conspiracy to possess machine guns and destructive Devices against the United States.
An indictment that was unsealed by Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed that Maduro isn't the only one facing charges.

Maduro's son, Nicolás Ernesto Maduro Guerra (also known as 'The Prince') , Diosdado Cabello Rondón (the former vice president of Venezuela), politician Ramón Rodríguez Chacín, and Hector Rusthenford Guerrero Flores have also been named in the indictment.
Maduro Guerra has been indicted since 2020 for alleged drug trafficking offences, the same as his parents. And while he wasn't captured last week, he remains wanted by the US. He is prominent in Venezuelan politics as a member of the country's National Assembly.
Following the capture of his parents, he spoke about Venezuelans coming together to protest the capture of the former president.
"We are fine, we are calm, you will see us in the streets, you will see us with these people, you will see us raising the flags of dignity. They want to see us weak, but they won't see us that way. It hurts, of course it hurts, of course it makes me angry," Maduro Guerra said, as per El Pais.
"But they won’t be able to, don’t mess with me. I swear on my life , I swear on my dad, I swear on Cilia, that we’re going to get out of this mess."
Maduro Guerra went on to call for the release of his father and demanded Venezuelans protest the capture of their former leader.

"History will tell who the traitors were; that will be known in time. We must concentrate on moving the country forward, on raising Chávez’s banners, and on demanding the safe release of Nicolás Maduro Moros and Cilia Flores," he added.
"I am standing firm, my family is standing firm, we are all standing firm, and we will move forward . Excuse me if I got a little emotional, I wanted to speak to you from the heart."
While Venezuela has a temporary leadership team in place, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has claimed that discussions surrounding elections taking place in the country 'is premature at this time'.
