Furious gamers are boycotting Starfield because it lets you choose pronouns

A bunch of gamers have nothing better to do than tear into Starfield for being inclusive and letting users choose their pronouns.

Yes, we may be in 2023, but unfortunately, while many aspects of the world have evolved, the size of some people's close-minded brains clearly have not.

A group of gamers have taken to social media in rage after discovering Starfield - the 'first new universe in over 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios' from the 'award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout Four' - gives you the option to choose your... wait for it... Pronouns. *Feigns horror*

Bless him, one 'weird British guy' gets into such a pickle and so hot and bothered he has to remove his headphones, his cheeks go red and his forehead veins even begin to bulge as he effs and blinds on his own into his little camera. Check out the trailer for the supposedly scandalous game here:

Starfield is an action role-playing game which allows players to customise their characters - from their body, face, background, traits and yes, pronouns too.

The options include they/them pronouns for non-binary characters as well as he/him and she/her.

With nothing better to do, some gamers apparently can't seem to handle the inclusivity and so have leapt to social media in rage - one user claiming the choice of pronouns made them feel less immersed in the world, before they even got into playing the actual game.

However, thankfully, it hasn't taken long for other X users and gamers to defend Starfield and its pronoun options, swiftly taking those with any issues down a peg - or ten.

Couldn't have put it better myself.
Twitter

One X user re-shared a reaction video to Starfield by a British gamer responding: "This weird british guy losing his mind over selecting pronouns in starfield is the perfect demonstration for why we must bring back lobotomies.

"Bro should be mad that the menu/maps/ui is confusing [...] but he’s mad about pronouns he had to choose like in every single game where there’s a character creator.

"My man here had a full fledged panic attack because a character customization screen allowed you to customize your character LMAO."

Another recorded themselves on the character customisation page of the game, noting: "Look how simple and easy it is to handle pronouns in #Starfield. You can change your pronouns, cool *confirms character*. Even if you're 'anti-woke', the game barely makes you interact with the option. These people are just big babies, desperately trying to stay relevant."

"We’ve gone from people freaking out about a 7/10 review score to grown men crying about pronouns in Starfield. Totally normal and quiet times on the internet," a third added.

Some people argued the man was simply 'expressing his opinion,' but one user pointed out: "What opinion...? 'How dare they force pronounces down our throats!!!!' That's not an opinion, that's him making a false statement."

Another commented: "Bro hasn't even gone past the character creator yet. You can't have an opinion on a game you haven't even played yet."

And a final resolved: "When his opinion is rooted in bigotry and intolerance, there is absolutely something wrong and he deserves to be called out for it."

UNILAD has contacted Starfield for comment.
