A woman has opened up about her near-death experience while only on the second day of her holiday in Rome.
Two days into her stay in the capital of Italy, a woman had what she describes as her 'worst' day, revealing it consisted not only of a relationship disaster, but a medical nightmare which left her in a life-threatening condition.
In the video, the woman describes having woken up to a text saying her 'relationship was over,' which led her to 'eat a cannoli while crying, because when in Rome you take advantage of the opportunities that are given to you'.

While she then tried to make the most of her day, having scored an Airbnb overlooking the Trevi Fountain, the woman warned, 'Little did I know how eventful it would actually end up being'.
She may have expanded her food tasting palette, but the woman ended up getting more than she bargained for, having 'assumed [the ice creams] were safe'.
'The gelato were explained to be as pure ingredients, meaning the fruit ones were made with fruit and water, the chocolate was made with chocolate and water, so on, so forth. I didn't really ask any questions when I should have,' she reflected.

The poor woman, who has a peanut allergy, suddenly realised she was 'having a reaction' only after eating a whole pot of the ice cream.
The woman explained how her eye 'started swelling, things were getting really bad really fast,' leading to her going to a pharmacy, getting injected, and waking up to find herself in hospital.
Luckily, the woman had her life saved, and reflected on how 'thankful' she was for the care she received, noting Italy's free healthcare system, 'I could have had a huge medical bill, but I survived and I didn't pay a penny'.

The post has since amassed over 20 million views, with users flocking to the post to share their sympathies over her disastrous trip. One said: 'Wow...love your positive attitude! You didn't let anything bring you down! Hope the rest of your trip was wonderful! You deserve it!'
Another wrote: 'Wow. Great ur Ok. But that how it should be in the US.... Free health care... The system needs to go to Rome and learn how it done. Here its all about the money. Sad isn't it...'
A third commented: 'I loved how she turned it around and reflected on what she was grateful for instead of wallowing in the bad bits. That's how to live!'
Despite the woman's positivity, her video should raise awareness about the severity of allergies and just how quickly they can become life-threatening.
