President Donald Trump has taken another swipe at his predecessor, as he claimed Joe Biden created a 'mess' in terms of the US' relationship with Russia.

On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, and ever since then a war between the two nations has raged on. Of course, the 78-year-old Republican was forced to watch on from the sidelines as his Democrat counterpart Biden was in power at the time.

But since moving back into the White House Trump has taken no time in trying to bring an end to the invasion, having called for a ceasefire between the two countries - something that both nations seem to want.

Now, taking to Truth Social, Trump has made bold claims about the 46th US president: "Crooked Joe Biden got us into a real 'mess' with Russia (and EVERYTHING ELSE!), but I’m going to get us out.

"Millions of people are needlessly dead, never to be seen again… and there will be many more to follow if we don’t get the Cease Fire and Final Agreement with Russia completed and signed.

"There would have been NO WAR if I were President. It just, 100%, would not have happened."

He continued: "Likewise, there would have been no October 7th with Israel, the pullout from Afghanistan would have been done with strength and pride, and would not have been the most embarrassing day in the history of our Country, it could have been a moment of glory.

"Also, there would not have been any perceptible inflation - Instead we had Record Setting, Country Destroying Inflation, like we have never seen before. Also, we would have had an impenetrable Border, with very few illegals getting in.

"Oh, what a difference A RIGGED & CROOKED ELECTION HAD ON OUR COUNTRY, AND THE PEOPLE WHO DID THIS TO US SHOULD GO TO JAIL! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

It comes as US officials sat down with Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday (March 11), to discuss plans to end the country's ongoing war with Russia.

The two countries released a joint statement afterwards, which outlined their hopes of having Russia sign a 30-day ceasefire, with Trump recently adding that there would be 'devastating' consequences for Russia if they did not agree.

"We could do things very bad for Russia," he told reporters. "Would be devastating for Russia. But I don’t want to do that because I want to see peace."

While yesterday (March 13), Putin, from inside the Kremlin, claimed he was 'in favor' of the proposal.

"We agree with the proposal for a ceasefire to cease hostilities, but we proceed from the fact that this ceasefire should lead to an enduring peace, and should remove the root causes of this crisis," Putin stated, as per The Guardian, before explaining how he held reservations over whether a month-long pause would benefit Ukrainian soldiers more than his own army.
