A strategist who predicted when Donald Trump's administration will 'collapse' has suggested he's made one of the most 'ignorant' acts in US history.

President Trump returned to the White House for a second term back in January, and to say it's been eventful is certainly an understatement.

The 47th POTUS has signed countless executive orders, including renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and a bill eradicating the Department of Education.

He also signed off an order that will change elections as we know it - something which was passed in the US House on Thursday (April 10).

The financial markets have been in turmoil in recent weeks as a result of Trump's tariffs, with one strategist going as far as saying the Trump government will eventually 'collapse'.

Political consultant James Carville stated that the Democrats don’t need to do much more than ‘play possum’ and watch the situation unfold.

The 80-year-old author recently said the whole thing could come crumbling down in as little as 30 days.

Carville has now accused Trump of one of the most 'ignorant' acts in US history amid the ongoing trade war with China and many other countries across the world.

In an opinion piece for The New York Times, the political strategist wrote: "In what will certainly be recorded as one of the most ignorant acts of political leadership in American history, the president of the United States has now wilfully damaged the global economy with his tariff chaos.

"Not only was this an act of economic warfare, it has broken the cardinal rule in American politics: Never destabilize the economy.

"With it, the Trump administration is causing enormous damage to itself - and there can be no more distraction from this naked truth."

Carville has previously spoken about Musk's involvement within the Trump administration, with the Tesla founder overseeing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Speaking to Chris Cuomo, the strategist said Musk will ‘be the greatest generator, let me say this very specifically, the greatest generator of Democratic turnout ever, more than Barack Obama’.

He added: “Musk will turn out more Democrats than Obama could, and I understand the gravity of that statement, but if he keeps going, that’s what’s going to happen.

"I was privy to some data that in a very critical state, and the Musk stuff is like nothing I’ve ever seen in the history of polling. Like, nothing. And we’re a month into the game.”
