Insane footage shows State Trooper narrowly avoid near-fatal crash while already responding to accident

The shocking footage of the State Trooper dicing with death has left people floored

Shocking footage shows the moment a State Trooper not only missed being hit by one car, but another vehicle just seconds later.

As any law enforcement officer will tell you, no day on the job is the same — but it's likely this State Trooper won't have expected to ever experience what happened to him.

Dashcam footage taken from the officer's car has been widely shared online which demonstrates just how dangerous their job can be.

In the video that's been described as 'crazy' by people on social media, an Illionis State Trooper is seen at the scene of a highway crash. In front of the police vehicle, which very evidently has it's lights on, is a car abandoned vertically across the lanes after an apparent collision.

The officer inspects the vehicle and makes his way round to the driver's side of the car when another speeding car clips the front of it.

Anticipating that this was coming, he moves out the way as the broken down car spins in his direction.

Then another speeding vehicle in a different lane flies by and narrowly misses the officer. By means of a miracle, the State Trooper went unscathed.

I'm not sure if the man in question is a betting man, but I'd have definitely bought a lottery ticket after the incident...

One platform the shocking video has been shared on it is Reddit, where a lot of people were left saying the same thing.

"[The drivers] should be heavily fined," one person wrote. Agreeing, someone else said: "License suspended, car impounded and a crippling fine. I'm so sick of the way people drive in the country. Drunk or not."

Others were left amazed that the speeding drivers didn't see the police car and the damaged vehicle, with one person questioning: "How does no one see the police car?"

"Goddamn no one is slowing down for the flashing lights. Literally wtf?" penned another.

The incident occurred in the Chicago area last year, and the Illinois State Police later announced that two drivers were facing multiple charges.

The failure in moving over was included in charges for both cases, said Fox 2 News.

In Illinois, they have something called Scott's Law in remembrance of Lieutenant Scott Gillen of the Chicago Fire Department, who was struck and killed by an intoxicated driver while assisting at a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway.

The law states that if you see an emergency vehicle stopped along the roadway you must change lanes if possible; always reduce your speed; and to proceed with increased caution.

Those who break such a law could be fined up to $10,000 as well as have their license suspended for a period of time if they were under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
