Full list of eligible jobs for tax-free tips in US

Some surprising jobs are included on the list

A list has been compiled of all the jobs in which workers are eligible for tax-free tips in the US, following one major u-turn.

President Donald Trump's signed the 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act' into law on Independence Day (July 4), and hospitality workers throughout the country have been benefitting from the legislature's 'no tax on tips' policy.

However, hard-working Americans have been second-guessing whether they are eligible for a tax break of up to $25,000.

While bartenders, waiters, chefs, as well as food servers at hotels and beyond can all tap into tax-free benefits, surprisingly food delivery drivers originally weren't included.

“This is a matter of basic fairness. Tips are tips - and there is no reason to punish Dashers simply because of how they work,” said DoorDash’s Max Rettig, the Global Head of Public Policy.

"Millions of hardworking Dashers deserve this tax cut, and now is the time for Dashers to make sure federal lawmakers get this right."

The new version signed into law, however, ensures food delivery drivers for companies like DoorDash and Uber are included.

Nevada DoorDash driver Sharon Simmons said: "I plan to use these tax savings to cover follow-up medical visits for my husband and to travel to Missouri to see my mom, my kids and my grandchildren. No tax on tips will literally allow me to see my family more often.”
