A soldier has explained a popular theory about the food that is served to armed forces members.
When it comes to food, army rations are probably not the first thing you would imagine being a luxurious or high end dining experience.
The US armed forces issues its soliders with 'MREs', which stands for 'Meal Ready to Eat', but while the meals are intended to keep soldiers well fed in combat, the taste has inevitably prompted a lot of less flattering versions of the 'MRE' acronym.
But one meal in particular might be enough to make a soldier worried about a lot more than indigestion, that's if a popular myth about one military meal is true.

This is when soldiers head up to the canteen to find that they are being served a surf 'n' turf, or steak and lobster.

YouTuber SADGUYRAPS went into detail on his channel about why this meal might worry a soldier, calling it 'that deadly combo'.
He said: "In short - it means you're f***ed," and added: "If you're seeing it, it's already too late."
But why is that?
Well, the theory goes that troops are served this fancy meal as a way give them something nice to enjoy because bad news is coming.
And in the military, bad news really is bad news.
"It's almost like the calm before the storm, but instead of a warning siren you get some overcooked steak and some rubbery lobster," said the YouTuber.
He explained: "There's a longstanding myth in the military that when that surf 'n' turf is on the menu it can mean one of two things.

"One, that your deployment is being extended, which is something we do not want because we want to go home.
"Or two, that we're going to war, again something we do not want because we want to go home."
It comes as the US is increasing its military presence in the Middle East after Donald Trump gave Iran 10 days to reach an agreement on its nuclear program.
Trump recently said he was considering strikes on Iran if they failed to reach a deal, sparking speculation of war.
"Let's face, they're not feeding you like kings because they love you, maybe they do, but really they're just trying to soften the blow," said SADGUYRAPS.
"So just know, when you see that steak and lobster that it's not just a meal, it's a message."
