A police officer has been suspended after he was filmed kissing a woman before climbing into the back of his squad car with her.

Footage of his amorous antics were uploaded to social media, where it quickly caught the attention of other detectives in the department.

Filmed in Maryland, the short clip shows the officer passionately kissing an unnamed woman and groping her at the same time.

It’s not long before the pair share a private moment in the back of the squad car, with the shocked viewers giving a commentary in the background.

As the uniformed officer climbs in, the people who are filming can be heard shouting in Spanish – appearing to call him an ‘animal’.

The clip was later uploaded to Instagram on Tuesday (5 September) with caption referring to an adult film star, who they claimed had a striking resemblance to the officer.

It joked: "Jonny sins wildin on the job."

Unsurprisingly, local police officers were soon on the case and the Prince George’s County Police Department have since responded to the incident.

The officer was seen sharing a passionate kiss with the woman.

In a statement, they confirmed that they had launched an investigation into the unnamed officer.

Shared on Twitter, it read: “PGDP Executive Command is aware of a video circulating on social media with one of our officers.

"As soon as we became aware earlier today, we opened an investigation to determine the circumstances. Additional information will be released once investigated and confirmed.”

However, there has since been an update in the case, with the officer having now been suspended.

In a follow-up tweet, they confirmed this but did not name him.

The post read: “Update: the officer has been identified. His police powers are now suspended as the investigation continues.”

Meanwhile, the video continues to circulate online and has also been uploaded to TikTok.

The police officer has since been suspended, the department confirmed.

In an interview with the man who filmed the incident, 7News revealed that the content creator has started filming after witnessing the interaction getting 'interesting'.

He told the local news outlet: "As we see the interaction getting a little bit interesting, we were like let's just record it, you know. Let's see what happens.

"I witnessed a cop doing something that any other citizen would have been charged with. He's a police officer you know. It's board daylight.

"He didn't even look up. He didn't care who was watching. He didn't care that kids were around," added the unnamed man.

UNILAD have reached out to the Prince George’s County Police Department for further comment.
