JD Vance had awkward reaction as he was savagely booed at music event

The US Vice-President filed into his VIP box at the Kennedy Center, in Washington DC, to a raucous of jeers

As Vice-President JD Vance attempted to wind down from his busy role as number two in the White House, he attended a highbrow music event but found opposition in the auditorium beneath him.

The 40-year-old's motorcade pulled into the Kennedy Center, Washington DC, to watch the esteemed National Symphony Orchestra yesterday evening (March 13) with his wife Usha Vance.

As a result of their attendance, the concert was delayed by up to 25 minutes as the Secret Service swept the area and took over the security check.

As the pre-concert announcements began, Vance and his entourage took their seats in their VIP box - and after members of the audience spotted the politician, the boos and jeers began.

"You ruined this place!" one person in the auditorium could be heard yelling, as members in the hall voiced their displeasure.

Vance's had a rather awkward reaction to the savage booing, as he took a swig of his red wine, spoke to his wife before waving at the crowd.

He seemed to take the jeers on the chin as he could be seen smiling from his seat, much like Taylor Swift's response to being booed during the Super Bowl last month.

While the Republican wasn't took taken aback by his fellow audience members, the world of classical music is more restrained than your typical concert.

After the footage of the booing was uploaded to Twitter, users shared their own views.

"Oh ok. Wow. Kennedy Center. JD deserves worse than a few boos after the stunt he pulled in the Oval Office with Zelenskyy. I haven’t forgotten it. A most shameful day for America," one wrote.

"Apparently he enjoys it, as most bullies would."

A second added: "It's genuinely disgusting that the Vice President of the U.S. is giddy over being booed. There was a time when politicians actually cared about public outrage when it mattered.

"Now? It's a game. They have zero respect for Americans and want nothing, good for the #UnitedStatesOfAmerica and they do whatever they want. We're on a dangerous road, and they love it. #MAGA #EnablingAct #DictatorTrump."

But not everyone believed the jeering was justified.

"What happened to patriotism? Respect for the Vice President of The United States? Common courtesy? Dems are such miserable people!! I don't want that negativity around me," one person penned on the social media site.

"Is anyone else just completely done with the nonsense and immaturity. Wouldn’t it be nice to just coexist and leave people alone. The nonsense and drama is off the charts," added another.
