Gabby Petito’s father has weighed in on the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie, highlighting one frustrating thing about the whole situation.
Gabby was killed by her boyfriend Brian Laundrie in 2021 and drew nationwide attention when she was initially reported to be missing.
Her remains were found in Wyoming’s Spread Creek camping area in September of that year, after which an autopsy confirmed she had died from blunt-force injuries.
Laundrie, who Gabby had been traveling with at the time, refused to cooperate with authorities when he returned home before taking his own life, leaving a note confessing to killing Gabby.

Five years on, Gabby’s father, Joe, has now spoken on Fox News about TV host Savannah Guthrie’s situation and what the family must be feeling.

Savannah’s mother has been missing since January 31 after disappearing from her home in Tucson, Arizona. Authorities believe she may have been taken against her will in the middle of the night.
While speaking with Fox, Joe Petito delved into an issue that frustrated him with the investigation into his daughter's disappearance - one which may now be impacting Savannah and her family.
He said: “It is humbling to see so many people try and help your family, which is what Savannah is getting with her mom."
However, Petito also admitted: “But it is also frustrating, a lot of the information that is out there...
“If someone does a bad report and doesn’t give accurate information a lot of the time people will just copy and paste it. Next thing you know, something is out there that is just not true at all.
“So it can be frustrating at times, it can be humbling at the same time, but also scary and sad, you know what I mean.”
During the chat, Petito also reflected on how he was feeling when he was dealing with his daughter’s disappearance.

He said: “To be honest, I don’t remember a lot of it because everything was moving so fast.
"You know, I just hope they are taking their time and listening to each other and really trying to do what is best in their situation based on their feeling and the information they have.
“Because a lot of outside influence will try and give an opinion or something along those lines. [The family] are the only ones who have all the information, or as much as possible.
“I just hope they are listening to what they feel is best.”
He closed by saying he is hoping that Savannah and her family have a good ending to this situation and that the suspect is ultimately brought to justice.
