Female reporter constantly being honked at while filming has people saying it's 'so disappointing'

Disappointing but not surprising

A traffic reporter from Louisiana has shown her TikTok followers the reality of a day doing her job as she posted a clip of her getting unwanted attentions from drivers passing by.

Felon Brown is a news and traffic journalist working for WBRZ, a family-owned TV station in Baton Rouge, capital city of Louisiana.

Fed up with the downsides of the job, Brown took to TikTok to share a video in which she's constantly honked at for simply being a woman trying to report on traffic.

The 28-second clip posted by Brown and captioned: "Can't a girl just do her job in peace?" has gone viral after showing the reporter getting increasingly frustrated at drivers interrupting her piece to camera.

In the video, Brown is reporting on traffic on a busy street, asking her followers to stand by to see 'how many times' she gets honked at.

Unsurprisingly, several cars driving by honk to get her attention, forcing her to do another take, over and over again.

Towards the end of the video, a visibly frustrated Brown waves back at one of the drivers with a sarcastic expression.

Posted to the video-based platform, the clip has since garnered a lot of views, making it onto Twitter/X, where some users have pointed out how 'disappointing' it is to see what are presumably mostly male drivers harass the reporter.

One account commented: "This is honestly so disappointing," while someone else criticised those men suggesting that the reporter was in some way looking for attention.

"What I don’t understand is how many males are saying she enjoys the attention yet not realizing how many women are saying they don’t," another person wrote.

"These types of males are the same types that wonder why women constantly reject them.

"Women do not like unwanted attention from any males and women don’t have any attraction to those types of males."

The majority of comments Brown received on TikTok focused on her outfit and how she should 'expect' to be honked at whilst filming as she's conventionally attractive.

The reporter didn't respond directly to these sexist comments, though a TikTok user called out the men in her replies.

"These comments… yikes! I'm so sorry you have to deal with that, and the behavior of people on the road too," they wrote.
