David and his family were holidaying in Suwannee in the summer of 2021, when he and his wife, Cindy, allegedly got into an argument.

Following an 'extensive search of the area', David was found in a canal behind the holiday home with multiple stab wounds.

Sheriff's concluded that he'd been placed in the water after being stabbed in the chest, and ruled his death as a homicide.

Now, over two years on from his passing, David's wife and two sons, Jack and Bailey Rainey, have been arrested in connection to his murder.

The trio have been charged with tampering with evidence.

Police are yet to reveal a potential motive for David's death and haven't shared who they suspect may have murdered the late Florida man.

Cindy and Bailey are currently being held without bond at the Flagler County jail, while Jack's being held without bond at the Orange County jail.

In David's obituary, he was described as being 'respected by his peers for his excellent skills, work ethic and dedication to getting the job done right'.

He'd worked as a welder and mechanic on steam and gas turbines before his death and had 'traveled all over the United States and the world for his work'.

At the time of his death, a GoFundMe was set up for Jack and Bailey where the family asked for donations for the boys' 'future' in lieu of flowers.
