Toys 'R' Us is making a comeback and, honestly, it's just the news we needed.

Who didn't love Toys 'R' Us? With aisles of toys, bright colours, and the R turned backwards just to prove how fun the place is - it was our childhood heaven.

So it was a dark day when they collapsed into administration in 2018 and we thought we might never see Geoffrey the giraffe again.

That is until now because the store is making a major comeback after partnering with Macy's - you know the department store that runs New York's giant Thanksgiving Day parade, yep them.

The partnership will see the popular toy brand have mini-stores inside Macy's across the US, and are planned to start opening from late July through to mid-October - just in time for the holidays.

While that sounds like a pretty quick rollout it makes a lot of sense.

The brand was acquired by WHP global in 2021, who bought the brand in a liquidation state from Tru Kids Inc.

They partnered with Macy's the same year, with Toys 'R' Us products being made available through the brand's website and Macy's online that August.

And now the brand's set for an in-store return and while we're thrilled with the news, you're probably wondering what the situation is in the UK - don't worry it looks hopeful.

It was announced last October that the brand also signed a licensing agreement last year that allows them to sell 'digital and physical retail commerce' in the UK.

They've even started recruiting workers for their UK stores and are planning to open more later this year.

With the chief executive of Toys 'R' Us Australia, Louis Mittoni, helping the UK re-launch along.

"I’m very excited to welcome over 100 years of retailing experience in our new team, who will lead the relaunch our iconic brand back into the UK market in the next few months. We have an amazing toy and baby buying team, which I believe is the best in the country.

"With this team now in place, we’re hitting the ground running and have been reaching out to the supply base to see with whom we can align on this amazing journey," Louis said as reported by Retail Gazette.

And we, for one, can't wait.
