Gwyneth Paltrow's ski trial is now in full swing, with the man suing her claiming he heard a 'blood curdling scream' right before impact.

Terry Sanderson also broke down in tears as he recalled the events of the crash some seven years ago now.

Back in 2016, Paltrow was involved in an incident on the Utah ski resort with Sanderson, who is alleging the US actor crashed into him and caused him significant injuries.

As a result, he is seeking a massive $300,000 in legal damages, with Paltrow flat out denying the claims and seeking a measly $1, plus compensation for her legal fees.

Paltrow took to the stand for the first time on Friday (24 March) to be questioned, with retired optometrist Sanderson taking the stand for the first time on Monday (27 March).

He said: "It takes my breath away - this is hard, I don't like going through this scene.

"I just remember everything was great and then I heard something I've never heard at a ski resort - a blood-curdling scream and then - boom - and it was like somebody was out of control, and going to hit a tree and was going to die, and that's what I heard until I was hit.

"Oh my gosh, somebody is out of control and they’re really seriously out of control."

Terry Sanderson was an emotional figure when describing the crash.

Sanderson went on to say that he had never been involved in a skiing accident prior to the incident, and that the shunt got him to the point where he was 'flying'.

He continued: "All I saw was a whole lot of snow and I didn’t see the sky, but I was flying in that sense, I had no control.

"The ground was coming up, no one was in front of me … it was quite a ways to the ground. I said, ‘You’ve gotta protect your face’ – that was the last thing I remember.

"Everything was black."

Sanderson said that he didn't remember speaking to Paltrow after the collision, adding that he didn't think 'it was cool to collide with a celebrity'.

This is despite writing to his daughters just hours after the crash saying that he was 'famous' after colliding with a well-known star.

Gwyneth Paltrow has denied any wrongdoing.

Speaking on Monday, Sanderson spoke about the impact the accident has had on his physical and mental health.

He said: "I can’t ski anymore, I was told if I did and had another crash, I could wind up full time in a nursing home."

Since the incident, Sanderson said that he has attempted to take to the slopes again, but it felt like 'skiing through landmines'.
