Gwyneth Paltrow reveals what it was really like filming sex scenes with Timothée Chalamet

Gwyneth Paltrow has dished the dirt on what it was like to film 'a lot of sex scenes' with the Timothée Chalamet on the set of Marty Supreme, after worrying about their significant age gap.

The 53-year-old Goop founder shared during a Q&A in California that she had been worried that Chalamet would find it 'really weird' filming sex scenes with an older woman, but added that the Call Me By Your Name actor had no such qualms.

In Marty Supreme, Paltrow plays a former actress with a wealthy husband who has a passionate affair with Marty, played by Chalamet, as he attempts to win the British Open table tennis tournament.

Later in the Josh Safdie directed film, the pair even meet up in a park and begin public fornication, but are cut short by police officers.

Speaking to Demi Moore, who was taking part in the Q&A, Paltrow said: "He was 27 or 28, and I was 50-whatever, and, I mean, it's weird."

But as professional actors, they got on with the passion-packed job at hand and got on with it.

She continued: "And I [thought], 'Oh, if it's weird for me, then it's going to probably really weird for [him],' but actually, it was fine. It wasn't that weird."

The Shakespeare in Love actor added that it was 'easy' to work with Chalamet, who has been clearing up at awards ceremonies for his performance as table tennis innovator Marty Reisman.

"He's so brilliant and committed and comfortable and confident," PEOPLE reports her adding.

In fact, according to Paltrow, it was her lack of recent acting that made their raunchy scenes seem daunting.

She said: "It was a lot of sex scenes ... and I was sort of worried about it too, just having not done all that kind of thing in so long, but it was very comfortable, and it was fine."

Only after filming their impassioned age-gap romance did Paltrow realize that she didn't have to worry about herself, but what her youngest son would think.

She told Moore that she remembered that son Moses, 19, would be watching and exclaimed: "Oh my God! My poor son."

Paltrow, who shares Moses and daughter Apple, 22, with Coldplay singer Chris Martin, added: "Can you imagine when he came to the premiere in LA? He wanted to die."

Separately, the Avengers: Endgame actor said on NBC's Late Night with Seth Myers that her son had handled the sex scenes 'not great' and had put his hands over his face while his mom got down with Chalamet.

This came to a head during filming when photographers captured Paltrow and Chalamet making out in Central Park, presumably for the scene where their public tryst lands them in trouble with the law.

While Apple cheered her on, her son struggled, with Paltrow saying: "My daughter thought it was very bad-a** and my son was like, 'Oh, my God, Mom'. He was like, 'This is too much..'"

But movie lovers seem to be a fan of their raunchy on-screen romance, with Marty Supreme smashing publisher A24's box office record since it premiered on December 2025, raking in over $100 million worldwide.
