Woman reveals unusual sleeping arrangement with boyfriend that's leaving people divided

It's a divisive subject

A woman has shared some insight into her rather unusual sleeping arrangement with her boyfriend which has left people divided.

Kacie posts heartwarming and light-hearted relationship content with her partner, Christian, on TikTok, which shows the couple are clearly enamored with one another as they refer to each other as 'soul mates'.

They joke about Kacie being the 'yapper' in the relationship and tease each other about arguments, sharing food and trying to like one another's hobbies, like sports.

However, while the pair in their 20s revealed last year that they started living together, they have what others describe as an unconventional sleeping set-up.

In the viral 'point-of-view'-type of video content, Kacie shared footage of her rather neat, tidy and girly bedroom with Hello Kitty blankets, pillows and cosy lamp lighting.

The video, which has since had more than five million views, then shows Kacie walking downstairs to reveal a second bedroom - which is somewhat messier and darker in comparison with minimal decor other than a bed, desk and clothes rail.

The video reads: "Pov: you & your bf live together but have separate rooms," while the caption adds: "10/10 recommend."

Thousands of viewers have been divided over the arrangement, with dozens saying they thought it was 'healthy' for couples to sleep apart while others said they couldn't imagine not being beside their partner's side at night.

One comment read: "Me and my man sleep together. How is the love life for separate bedroom?"

Another agreed: "I understand having our own space, but I will always sleep in the same bed as my man."

"I support people who do this but, in my opinion, I could never do this," a third penned. "I need the comfort of my partner to sleep. Plus, we can still have space but sleep together in the same room."

However, dozens more claimed sleeping in different rooms is 'so healthy', particularly for couples whose partners snore, move around a lot at night or have different work schedules.

"Yess we have separate beds and it made sleeping so much better!" one user commented, revealing that her partner snores 'so loud' and 'flops around like a fish', meaning she would rarely get any shut-eye.

"I don't understand why people are so offended over this," she added.

Another chimed: "This should be normalized more! It's healthy, still loving each other but also having some alone time. You don't have to do everything together."

To add to the testimonies, some said their parents who have banked decades of happy marriage together have always slept in separate rooms, writing it 'just works for some people'.

"It's the best thing I've ever done for my relationship," someone else admitted, while a man agreed that the sleeping arrangement with his girlfriend of 13 years was a decision he 'definitely' recommends.

Others said they also loved the idea, as partners can decorate their own spaces while enjoying sleepovers - and of course, makes 'nights on the couch' after fights a little more comfortable.

While many couples consider sleeping apart to be a bad omen, research by Naturepedic.com actually suggests the opposite, having found couples who have their own rooms benefit from improved sleep quality and reduced stress.
