If you fancy being a 'financially responsible' young person in a bid to reap the benefits later in life, then a TikToker says she has you covered.

That coffee you bought earlier this week? That donut the other day? All the 'treats' you end up treating yourself to every single day - guilty - because why else would you work?

Well, prepare to wave goodbye to them if you decide to take one TikToker's advice when it comes to saving enough to be 'enter your rich girl era', save money, and try to retire by the age of 40.

TikToker Mia Rose McGrath is in the office five days a week for her account manager job in fashion in London, which she tells followers makes it a lot harder to save money.

In a video shared to her platform earlier today (March 21), she reveals she's trying to save 'as much' as she can so she can invest more in the stock market.

"One of the ways that I'm achieving this is bringing a packed lunch in every single day," she explains. "When I'm feeling extra lazy I'll just take the leftovers from the dinner before."

And this apparently saves Mia over $100 each week, the TikToker working out the meal comes to $1.

The other thing Mia slashes the cash on? Coffee.

Instead of buying a caffeine hit while out and about, Mia makes a coffee at home - it costing just under 40 cents.

And her breakfast? Similarly hitting just under 40 cents by having some granola rather than spending any money out.

Mia's commute is $4.40 each way which totals $8.80 each day and she notes she has a 16-25 railcard which gives her a discount too.

However, this isn't to say Mia doesn't treat herself every now and again, revealing she does buy an item once a month from Vinted - a pair of boots costing around $45.

For dinner, Mia tucked into a meal of a burger, some chips and greens which she says costed a total of around 50 cents.

Her total spend for the day? $58.70. And she even says that was one of her larger spend days...

In another video, she notes she eats 'a 50p breakfast everyday so [she] can retire by 40' and has reportedly managed to save around $96,000 so far - alongside investing etc.

And it's not taken long for social media users to weigh in.

One TikToker said: "Food from home for the win!! Tastes better and saves a hell of a lot!"

"Packing lunch saves so much," another added.

Alas, despite Mia's intentions of retiring by the age of 40, another user commented on another video: "You’ve spent so much money here. you’ll realise why you’re not retiring at 40 fairly soon."

    So, what do you think?
