Kylie Jenner has been criticised for wearing a faux 'lion's head' to a fashion show this week.

The youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, 25, wore a black dress accessorised with a gigantic lion's head as she watched the Schiaparelli SS23 runway show at the weekend.

"BEAUTY AND THE BEAST," Kylie wrote on Instagram. "Thank you @danielroseberry and @schiaparelli for such a special morning. wow i loved wearing this faux art creation constructed by hand using manmade materials. beautiful beautiful."

Despite the lion's head being fake, not everyone was as thrilled at the choice, with many taking to the comments to remind Kylie that animals are 'not a fashion statement'.

One person wrote: "So sad to see celebrities in such platform normalize animal cruelty."

While another said: "Glorifying animal hunting is not the one."

And a third added: "Might not be real but still doesn’t sit right if you are an animal lover."

Meanwhile, a fourth commented: "You don’t have to be an animal lover to know that this is all wrong on so many different levels."

A fifth even claimed that the images made them 'feel sick', adding: "Awful. A lions head is not a fashion statement! Actually makes me feel a bit sick."

Others felt the choice was 'promoting animal hunting', with one follower writing: "This is literally promoting more hunting of animals."

"This is very disturbing and distasteful," added another.

According to Sustainability Times, 600 wild lions are killed every year, often for their teeth, claws and other body parts. In other cases, they are poisoned in a bid to protect livestock.

The Kardashians star and rapper Travis Scott welcomed their second child in February last year.

They originally called the infant Wolf, but Kylie revealed in an Instagram story the following month: "Our son's name isn't Wolf anymore. We just didn't really feel like it was him."

Kylie has now revealed her boy's new name is Aire in an Instagram post, in which she also showed her son's full face for the first time.

Comments on the post were limited, but Kylie's momager Kris Jenner wrote: "I love you Aire Webster."

Kylie also shares a daughter, Stormi, aged four, with Travis.
