Men have been seeing an increase in the size of their penises, and have been quick to hail Ozempic as the hero in this tale…but is it correct?

After the penis size in the UK rose by 1.46 inches from 2022 and 2024, making the average size of a British penis go from 5.17 inches to 5.63, people wondered what could be causing this shift.

After a little look, a new study revealed that the UK ranks eighth in the world for the biggest penis growth in the space of two years which could be down to the increase in use of Ozempic in men.

But why?

Ozempic, apparently is enlarging penises through its drug properties.

People are now calling it ‘Ozempic penis’, but 'Ozemd*ck' is probably a much better term.

What is Ozempic penis?

Well, according to Reddit users and those who self-report their penis sizes, Ozempic has something to do with their enlarged penises.

According to one man: “I recently measured myself down there and noticed I gained about 1 inch. Now I think people will say it was because of the fat loss, however at the time I measured myself before 4 years ago was thinner. I also bone pressed during measurement before and also this time. Has anyone else noticed this change in themselves?”

However, commenters were not so convinced.

One person said: “FUPA is a thing. Fat Upper Pubic Area. When you lose weight, the shaft of the penis protrudes more. It’s just anatomy!”

Another wrote: “It’s the weight loss around the pubic area. It just looks bigger (which doesn’t suck) and probably works better.”

Is Ozempic penis real?

If you ask users, then yes, it is.

However, there are plenty of naysayers online who, like those on Reddit, simply believe it’s down to weight loss giving the illusion of bigger junk.

Similarly, experts suggest that type two diabetes drug Ozempic, could actually be increasing penis sizes via illusion.

Speaking to Diabetes.co.uk, Dr Richard Viney said: "Men’s penises shorten as they get older (due to) increasing body fat and increasing prostate size drawing the penis back into the body.

"It is theoretically possible new drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy, which are used to treat diabetes and obesity respectively and can cause people to lose weight, could also be a factor. As men lose weight, their penises appear larger."

What are the other side effects of Ozempic?

Ozempic and Mounjaro are aimed at helping those with Type 2 diabetes to control their blood sugar levels and insulin needs.

However, people have begun to use Ozempic for weight loss thanks to its appetite suppressant abilities. In fact, it's said that around one in eight Americans have tried the GLP-1 drugs.

While the results speak for themselves, Ozempic has not been approved as a weight loss option, as the FDA has not studied the drug for weight loss and management purposes.

There have been a number of side effects listed, from ‘Ozempic face’, and ‘Ozempic butt’ after people claimed that their faces looked hollow and sunken and their bottoms looked flat and sagging.

How does Ozempic work?

Essentially, it suppresses your appetite via your brain.

YouTuber @ZackDFilms revealed the grim realities of what Ozempic does once it hits your system.

In the clip he states: “Once Ozempic is in your bloodstream, it activates the part of the brain that make you feel full, reducing your appetite.”

From there, it’ll stabilize ‘your blood sugar’ to curb those cravings you might have.

However, it stops your stomach from emptying as fast so that you feel fuller for longer, which might make you sick and even produce diarrhea.

Statement from Novo Nordisk

"Patient safety is of the utmost importance to Novo Nordisk, and we recommend patients take these medications for their approved indications and under the supervision of a healthcare professional. We continuously collect safety data on our marketed GLP-1 receptor agonists medicines and work closely with the authorities to ensure patient safety. As part of this work, we continue to monitor reports of adverse drug reactions through routine pharmacovigilance.

"We recommend that any patient experiencing side effects while taking GLP-1 RA medicines, including Wegovy®▼and Ozempic® (semaglutide injection), report them to their healthcare provider and via the MHRA Yellow Card scheme: https://yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/."
