McDonald's has revealed it's celebrating National French Fry Day by giving away free fries.

Stop what you're doing and get ready to mark this day in your calendar and set a dozen reminders - not that you should even need reminding.

Yes, McDonald's is cheering us up on a bleak Hump day and offering free fries to everyone to celebrate National French Fry Day.

There are all sorts of wild and random national celebratory days, but this one you should definitely care about. But when should you be setting your alarm for and preparing to sprint to your nearest McDonald's?

Run, don't walk, to your nearest McDonald's tomorrow.

Well, you won't have to wait long, because National French Fry Day is tomorrow - Thursday, 13 July.

The fast food chain already has 'Free Fries Friday' but with that deal, you have to make a $1 minimum purchase in order to receive a free medium fries as well as be opted into Rewards and the deal is only available in the McDonald's app too.

On National French Fry Day, you don't have to make any other purchase - you can just eat those fries and we all know everything tastes better when it's free.

McDonald's is not only offering free fries without you having to make any other purchase, but you can also get them in any size too - obviously large or who even are you?

However, similarly to the 'Free Fries Friday' deal, you do need to be registered to the McDonald's app.

Unfortunately - it all seemed too good to be true, didn't it? - it appears the deal is only available in the US, as per TODAY, and is only taking place at participating locations.

There's also a limit to one free fries per customer, but hey! That doesn't mean you can't load up on some of your other favourite McDonald's items while you're there too.

Your week just got a whole lot better.

My personal order consists of a Saver Menu chicken burger, 20 nuggets, a McFlurry, mozzarella dippers and a cheeky Saver Menu cheeseburger too if I'm feeling extra peckish.

And if - on top of some free fries on National French Fry Day - you fancied some more McDonald's tips, an employee has you covered.

Taking to TikTok, the employee revealed a hack which can see you save money on chicken nuggets - you know you can now get four new sauces with those too?.

They also shared how to make sure your fries aren't ones which have been left lingering in the fryer a little while and are as fresh as they can be. So what are you waiting for?
