Trump Calls For 'Biggest Protest We've Ever Had' If Prosecutors Investigating Him 'Do Anything Illegal'

Donald Trump is calling on his supporters to act if prosecutors 'do anything illegal' while investigating him.

Former president Donald Trump has called for his supporters to mount the 'biggest protest we've ever had' if prosecutors investigating him and his businesses 'do anything illegal'.

Since leaving the White House, Trump and those associated with him have been investigated for several things including a probe into whether or not the former president and his allies committed criminal wrongdoing as part of the Capitol riots where thousands of his supporters stormed the US Capitol building.

Dozens of subpoenas have been issued to those close to Trump, including his daughter Ivanka Trump and Rudy Giuliani, as part of the many investigations.

Beyond investigations into his political affairs, there are also probes into his businesses, with New York attorney general Letitia James announcing there was 'significant' evidence to suggest the Trump Organisation had committed fraud.

Per Newsweek, Trump was speaking at a rally in Texas where he insisted upon his innocence and called prosecutors 'racist'.

He said: 'If these radical, vicious, racist prosecutors do anything wrong or illegal, I hope we are going to have in this country the biggest protest we have ever had in Washington DC, in New York, in Atlanta and elsewhere because our country and our elections are corrupt, they're corrupt.

'In reality, they're not after me, they're after you, and I just happen to be the person in the way', he said, adding: 'For years, they've been going after my company, many years, using every trick in the book in an attempt to literally, if they can, put me in jail. They want to put me in jail.'

As for what would constitute 'illegal' in the myriad of investigations into him and his affairs, Trump believes his rights are not being protected by the Supreme Court.

The former president repeatedly appealed to the Supreme Court to prevent investigators from obtaining certain documents which may end up being crucial, but earlier this month the court ordered hundreds of pages worth of diaries and phone logs be turned over to the January 6 House Select Committee.

Trump also said he would pardon Capitol rioters if he returned to the White House after the 2024 presidential elections, for which he is still the Republican frontrunner.
