Real reason why one AirPod always dies faster than the other

Apple users could resolve the issue of one Airpod dying faster than the other with some simple fixes.

Apple users continue to grow frustrated with the company as one Airpod regularly dies before the other.

While many people have said goodbye to the annoyance that is tangled wired earphones, at least wired earphones didn’t die on you.

You would think living in the future we would have ironed out all the kinks in the technological marvel that we use every day.

Phones and earphones are fixtures in our day to day, so you'd expect them to work to near perfection.

Yet, we seem so far from this reality and Apple users are honestly growing tired of it.

I don’t blame them, because there is nothing more frustrating than having one Airpod die faster than the other. This frustration only grows when you just can’t understand why this happens.

Well, one Apple Explained video highlighted why this may be happening and how to stop it.

The most common reason behind the uneven battery status could be down to contact issues inside the charging case.

"When placing your AirPods inside, it’s possible that one may not make full contact with the charging pins," the video explained.

This means the battery of the AirPod slowly drains instead of charging.

However, there's an easy fix for this. By using a cotton swab, simply clean inside the case around the metal pins - even if there's no visible dirt - along with the stem of the AirPod.

Another reason could be the different functions of each AirPod affecting their batteries.

But for those who aren’t having an issue, there could be other reasons as to why your battery drains rapidly.

Depending on which pod you choose, one is usually used as the microphone for Siri or calls, whilst the other is for 'Noise Control.' You can even out their battery usage by switching these roles in your iPhone settings.

Apple users should also pay attention to which AirPod they take out if say someone is talking to them. Yes, really. It may sound a little random, but over time it can cause 'uneven degradation.'

When the Airpod is not being used in your ear it will likely go into power-saving mode, while the other continues to play the sounds.

This can lead to one AirPod needing more charge cycles than the other, with different charging capacities.

So, do your best to make sure you are using your Airpods equally, and you might be able to avoid the battery dying on you.
