Man gets punched after yelling during mute challenge at Beyoncé concert

The crowd footage has sparked quite a heated debate online

One die-hard fan really took the viral 'mute challenge' to a whole new level after appearing to punch a man for yelling at the Beyoncé concert.

Incase you're not clued up with Beyhive lingo, the mute challenge sees concert-goers and fellow music artists turning Beyoncé's on-stage performance of 'Energy', into a real-life TikTok challenge.

During the Renaissance Tour when the 'Drunk in Love' star sings; 'Big wave in the room, the crowd gon’ move / Look around, everybody on mute,' then the singer and her backup dancers freeze for a few moments.

At that point, the crowd is then challenged to put their finger on their lips and quite literally go on 'mute', leaving the entire stadium silent.

However, it seems that not everyone was onboard with the challenge after one man let out an enthusiastic 'woo' cheer in the middle of the silence.

And mere seconds later, a fellow concert-goer appeared to punch him for ruining the moment.

Surrounding fans can be seen either gasping or covering their mouths in shock at the incident.

Then, as if nothing even happened, the booming crowd get back to enjoying the concert.

The video, uploaded to X - formerly Twitter - by a user with the handle @beyoncegarden, captioned the short clip: "Not somebody finally got whacked for not going mute."

Many people sided with the fan who allegedly landed the 'whack', with one user commenting: "Sure it’s assault but it’s fully deserved and I would defend them in court."

The Renaissance Tour drama seemed to split the internet right down the middle.

"I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DO THIS FINALLY," admitted a second.

A third chimed in: "Good! Bc why you gotta ruin it?"

"I hate attention seekers," quipped another, "like STFU or I will make you."

Others, however, stood up for the man, with one Twitter user writing: "Seriously though assault is not cool, hope they knew each other and it was a joke."

Someone else penned: "Now it is never that serious especially if you basically talking to Jesus up there."

"This isn’t a flex at all," echoed a third. "Yeah we should ALL be on mute but to assault someone is crazy. I would file charges!"

A final Twitter user added: "Okay now see it’s not that deep!

"Yes it’s hella corny to scream but to get physical over what’s supposed to be a fun challenge is insane! You think Beyoncé really care about this that much for y'all to be tussling?

"What if they would hit back? Y'all calm down and have fun."

What do you think?
