Kanye West Will Only Release His New Album On One Platform And It’s Not Online

Rapper Kanye West has revealed that the sequel album to Donda will be released exclusively to one platform.

Rapper Kanye West has revealed that the sequel album to Donda will be released exclusively to one platform.

On Thursday, February 17, the 44-year-old who now formally goes by Ye took to Instagram to share the latest update on Donda 2 with his followers.

However, the rapper's eleventh album will be exclusively released to a platform Ye launched himself, and subsequently not available on any other streaming services.

Alongside posting what seemed to be a snippet of one of the songs from the album, Ye explained the launch of his own new platform, called the Stem Player.

The caption reads: 'Donda 2 will only be available on my own platform, the Stem Player. Not on Apple Amazon Spotify or YouTube. Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes. It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own. Go to stemplayer.com now to order.'

Another post featuring a clip stated: 'Donda 2 will only be streaming on my own platform, the stem player. You can download new music from stemplayer.com. You can play 4 different elements of the track: vocals, drums, bass and music. It also has a MP3 player available. We currently have 67,000 available and are making 3,000 a day. Go click the link in my bio to purchase.'

The Stem Player was created by Yeezy Tech and Kano Computing and first launched by Ye in August 2021. The device costs $200 and includes a feature that allows different instruments and vocals to be isolated within songs.

In a later post, of a screenshot of Donda 2 trending on Twitter, Ye called on fans to join his new platform and be 'part of the revolution'.

'I feel that same feeling like when I first moved to New York to make it in Music. I ain’t know what was gonna happen but I knew had to move. After 10 albums after being under 10 contracts. I turned down a hundred million dollar Apple deal. No one can pay me to be disrespected. We set our own price for our art. Tech companies made music practically free so if you don’t do merch sneakers and tours you don’t eat. Jay Z made Tidal and fake media attacked him. Well in the words of my big brother. Come and get me. I’m willing to die standing cause I ain’t living on my knees no more. God please cover me. I run this company 100% I don’t have to ask for permission. This is our 2nd generation stemplayer We have more things we working on. I feel like how I felt in the first episode of the documentary,' he said.

He also re-shared the announcement of the album not being available on streaming platforms alongside the caption: 'We did it Don’t matter what happens 2mrw This happened tonight For the first time in a long time I feel alive we did it kid we did lord lift me up things change let’s keep it burning …'

Ye has also seemingly released the potential track list for the album, posting an image of handwritten notes on his Instagram, featuring titles such as, 'Lift Me Up,' 'Get Lost,' and 'We Did It'.

Ye first announced the release date for Donda 2 on January 27, 2022.

The cryptic post followed in similar fashion to the build-up and hype that surrounded his 10th release, Donda, named after his mother.
