While most of us struggle to cover our rent each month, Beyoncé's over here earning a reported $280,000 per minute for a show.

If you're wondering how much it would cost to get a private performance from Queen Bey, take a look at her recent concert in Dubai.

The 41-year-old singer appeared at an exclusive event where she did her first live gig in four years to a curated crowd of influencers and journalists.

To mark the opening of the city's The Atlantis Royal hotel, she sang 19 tracks over an 85-minute period - and, according to reports, she took home a whopping $24 million for her troubles.

Our calculator tells us that's $282,352 per minute.

It's not hard to see why she agreed to the show, but Beyoncé's fans aren't too pleased about her decision.

You see, her latest album 'Renaissance', which was nominated for Album of the Year, has been described as a 'love letter to Black queer pioneers of dance music from the past and present'.

But Bey failed to perform any of its songs at the concert, with many highlighting the fact that the United Arab Emirates criminalises same-sex relationships for both men and women.

The event has sparked controversy as many grapple with their love for the star and whether the show was simply a money-grab.

The singer has faced criticism from a number of fans.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "No beef but I’m struggling to understand why Beyoncé, who has half a billion dollars, would accept 20 million dollars to make her debut performance of the Renaissance album, a record which lifts heavily from queer culture, in Dubai, a country where LGBT rights aren’t recognised."

They went on to say: "So many people saying 'She didn’t perform anything from Renaissance though!' – does that actually make a difference?

"She’s in cycle for an album indebted to queer culture. The question should be: why didn’t she? Could she?"

Another said: "Beyoncé doing a paid for press tour in Dubai doesn’t sit well with me.

"Especially with the influences for Renaissance being queer ballroom culture and it’s illegal and a death sentence to be gay in Dubai like????"

"Beyonce performs in #Dubai's homophobic dictatorship," added a third. "Ditching her own progressive values, she put a money-grabbing pay cheque before human rights.

"And sang no songs from Renaissance album, to appease anti-LGBT+ regime that has death penalty for gay sex?"

UNILAD has contacted a Beyoncé rep for comment.
