For some ridiculous reason, fat-shamers have targeted 50 Cent after his appearance at the Super Bowl. It's safe to say, he doesn't care in the slightest.

This year's halftime show was set to go down in history from the first announcement: a rap 'supergroup' made up of Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and the inimitable Mary J. Blige.

As they took centre-stage and kicked off the performance, fans' jaws were dropped by the surprise appearance of 50 Cent, hanging upside down, an ode to the music video for In da Club.

What psychological delusion leads some to believe 50 Cent is FAT!? I don't even give a f**k about Fifty, but this is ridiculous. pic.twitter.com/q247ltNiWB

While the sight of 50 Cent was broadly met with hype from viewers, who later went on to describe the show as the 'greatest of all time', some trolls have been hitting the rapper with insults, claiming he's put on weight - when really, he's just hench.

'Went from 50 Cent to 50 percent body fat,' one user wrote. '50 Cent out here looking like a FAT BAT,' another tweeted. 'You know 50 Cent done got fat because he kept pulling his shirt down. Only fat people do that,' a third wrote. '50 Cent got fat now he a dollar,' a fourth tweeted. 'Legit thought it was a fat 50 Cent impersonator,' a fifth wrote.

At first, 50 Cent didn't even recognise the haters. Instead, he shared a link to his G-Unit merch, so fans can buy the same tank top and headband he wore at the Super Bowl. However, he's since clapped back more directly.

Sharing screenshots of a New York Post article about the fat-shamers, he wrote, 'I call this teasing me, they’re just teasing me because they know I can drop the weight. That’s why I laugh with them. Fat shaming only applies when your ashamed of your fat. LOL.'

He's also received thousands of tweets in support. 'Ignore the haters. I thought you look great! You will always be a legend to me!' one wrote. 'I know we all wanna haha on 50 Cent Bc he’s a bigger guy now but that man walked up, pulled himself upside down like we used to on the monkey bars and held his weight up until it was time to start rappin.. my goodness,' another tweeted.

'People are fat shaming 50 Cent just because he looks different than he did when he first released In da Club 19 years ago. I dare you middle aged people to find a picture of yourself from 19 years ago. I’ll bet you looked different too,' a third wrote.
