Are you ready to return to Panem? Well, ready or not, we're going back.

Lionsgate has dropped the first official trailer for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

We volunteer as tribute.

To watch, not to play, obviously. Who would actually want to play that damned game?

The film stars Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, Peter Dinklage, Hunter Schafer, Josh Andres Rivera, Jason Schwartzman and Viola Davis.

It will serve as a prequel to the smash-hit book series from Suzanne Collins.

The trailer was unveiled at CinemaCon and Lionsgate’s Adam Fogelson said this prequel movie is similar to the likes of Wicked and Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

"Fans want to know and see the origins of this story," he told fans at premiere, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

Director Francis Lawrence is at the helm of the upcoming flick.

Collins released The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes back in 2020 and it follows a young Coriolanus Snow, the tyrannous president opposed by Katniss Everdeen in the original trilogy.

Snow mentors the defiant Lucy Gray Baird, District 12’s tribute for the 10th Hunger Games.

The story is set 64 years before the first novels and explores the historical and political routes of Panem.

And fans won't have to wait too long to see it.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will drop in cinemas on November 17.
