Studio Ghibli theme park reveals first look inside as opening date nears

There's a Studio Ghibli theme park and it's almost ready to open so get booking your tickets to Japan.

The Studio Ghibli theme park is almost ready to open and they've given fans a sneak peek at what's inside ahead of the grand opening.

The animation studio responsible for classic after classic are opening their own theme park in little over a month's time and have teased fans with a look inside at what they've been building.

It's not your traditional theme park crammed full of rides and rollercoasters, instead this one is meant to bring you into the wonderful worlds depicted in the animated classics.

They want you to walk through the woods, inhabit the world of Studio Ghibli and discover the wonderful creations for yourself.

Located in Aichi Expo Memorial Park in Nagakute City, Japan, a few miles east of the city of Nagoya a veritable shrine to the wonder of Studio Ghibli has been built.

Welcome to the Studio Ghibli theme park.

There are going to be five sections of the theme park in total, but on the opening date of 1 November visitors will be able to look around the first three.

Ghibli's Grand Warehouse, the park's main attraction, will feature scenes from several of the movies including My Neighbour Totoro and Spirited Away, while it'll also have shops and cafes for visitors to enjoy.

Also included will be a 170-seat cinema where people can watch 10 animated shorts which up until now had only been available to view at the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo.

A play area in the theme park features a sleeping Totoro.

The entrance to the park itself will be the Hill of Youth section, which features exhibits from Howl's Moving Castle, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Whisper of the Heart and The Cat Returns.

There will even be a complete life-sized replica of the antique shop seen in Whisper of the Heart.

Rounding off the trio of park areas opening on 1 November is the Dondoko Forest, named for the dance performed in My Neighbour Totoro and featuring a big statue of the iconic Ghibli character standing besides Satsuki and Mei's house.

Sets and locations from the classic Studio Ghibli movies have been lovingly recreated.

Coming later are the Valley of Witches and Mononoke Village, which aren't quite finished yet so anyone among the lucky group that are first in will definitely have to take a second trip to see everything.

Announced back in 2017, tickets to be first into the theme park are a hot commodity and were sold by lottery.

Tickets for the grand opening have already been sold, while each month's tickets afterwards go on sale on the 10th of each month on a first come, first served basis so if you want to go you'd best be ready for the next batch.

Each section of the park also requires a separate ticket to be bought, and you have to be there at the proper date and time that you booked.
