Sofia Vergara has defended the physical transformation she underwent to play drug queenpin Griselda in her new Netflix show.
On Thursday (January 25), all six episodes of the true-crime drama, based on the life of Griselda Blanco, dropped on the streaming service.
The new limited series stars Vergara, 51, in the titular role while Alberto Guerra plays her third husband, Darío Sepúlveda.

If your interest is already piqued then get a load of Griselda’s official Netflix synopsis which reads: “Inspired by real events, this fictional dramatisation shows Griselda Blaco’s journey from Medellín to becoming ‘the Godmother’ of Miami’s drug empire.”
Ahead of the release, the Modern Family star appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show to promote the gritty offering.
However, let’s just say things got a little bit awkward between her and 41-year-old host Kelly Clarkson.
During the interview, a clip of Vergara getting her prosthetics fitted to play the part was aired.
The ‘Because Of You’ singer began: “You look incredible. I feel like they only changed your nose or something?”
“What? Are you crazy?” responded Vergara.
Clarkson then ploughed on with her statement, saying that ‘whatever’ the Griselda hair and make-up team did was ‘slight’.
In an attempt to defend her transformation into the 'Cocaine Godmother', Vergara said: “No Kelly, it took hours.”
“No, here’s what I’m saying,” the show’s host replied. “It probably took time but what I’m saying is that the slight change completely changed your being!”
“It was a wig,” exclaimed Vergara. “Shut up!”
However, it seemed as if Clarkson had taken the outburst in good jest as she started to laugh, clap and grab her guest’s arm.
“It was a lot - they did a lot to me,” added Vergara. “It was teeth, it was wig, it was nose, it was plastic from ear to ear.”
Clarkson went on to praise the Griselda prosthetics team, saying that her interviewee's transformation was ‘seamless’ and that they did ‘such a great job’.
“You look like a different actress… You could have a whole different life,” she added, talking over her guest.
The clip of the conversation has since gone viral across social media, and fans of the pair have been having their say.
One user of X, formerly Twitter, wrote: “I’m SCREAMING at the CHAOTIC energy of Sofia Vergara with Kelly Clarkson!!! WONDERFUL.”
“I just wanna go to dinner with KC and @SofiaVergara and listen to them talk over each other and yell at each other,” another added.
“It can just be 2 straight hours of Sofia telling KC to shut up. It would very enjoyable.”
Griselda is available to watch on Netflix now.
