The It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia cast could get bigger if Rob McElhenny and Ryan Reynolds have their way.

McElhenney sat down to play with puppies with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, who was asked if he would ever consider making a cameo on the critically acclaimed comedy series, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

And it turns out Reynolds is totally game for a cameo, with McElhenney knowing exactly how they could make it work.

During an interview with Buzzfeed, the pair spoke about how the Green Lantern actor could become part of the show.

FXX.

“I’m personally offended that I was never asked,” Reynolds quipped.

Reynolds and McElhenney have already discussed how a potential cameo would work, with the former teasing: “Well… it can be arranged.”

McElhenny, who plays Ronald ‘Mac’ McDonald in the sitcom, revealed that he has an idea of who Reynolds could play.

And if you’ve ever shipped McElhenney and Reynolds together, then you’ll be beyond pleased to know who.

“Mac needs a boyfriend,” the It’s Always Sunny star said.

“Great, let’s do it!” Reynolds replies enthusiastically.

The pair’s friendship goes back to before their puppy interview, as in 2020, they both purchased the Welsh association football club Wrexham A.F.C.

The actors took over the team following a vote from fans, which went overwhelmingly in their favour.

The offer was approved by 98 percent of the votes cast by the Wrexham Supporters’ Trust, meaning that they will be owners following a final agreement, league approval and confirmation by the Football Association, The Guardian reported at the time.

The pair’s foray into sports was filmed for a Disney+ documentary series, aptly titled Welcome to Wrexham.

It follows McElhenney and Reynolds as they learn what it's like to run the third oldest professional football club in the world in Wrexham AFC.

Throughout the show, we see the them get to grips with the daily tasks of running a football club – and it’s not exactly plane sailing.

The Hollywood stars bought Wrexham FC.

For those unaware, the synopsis for the doc reads: "From Hollywood to Wales, from the pitch to the locker room, and the front office to the pub, the docuseries will track Rob and Ryan's crash course in football club ownership and the inextricably connected fates of a team and a town counting on two actors to bring some serious hope and change to a community that could use it."
