People Think Ryan Gosling Looks More Like Another Movie Character In First Picture As Ken In Barbie

People Think Ryan Gosling Looks More Like Another Movie Character In First Picture As Ken In Barbie

Can you see the resemblance?

Fans have just had a first glimpse of Ryan Gosling as Ken in the new Barbie movie.

Gosling is starring alongside Margot Robbie in the hotly-anticipated film, but fans are adamant that the actor looks just like another movie character.

In the first look photo, Gosling has had a serious Ken makeover, with bleach blonde hair, a glowing - and slightly orange - tan and a sleeveless denim jacket showing off Ken-doll abs beneath.

He also wears identical light wash denim jeans, with his 'Ken' scribed underwear slightly on show. And he's posing next to a bright Barbie-pink pillar.

Although the look screams Ken, social media users couldn't help but draw comparisons to Fred from the Scooby-Doo movies, played by Freddie Prinze Jr.

The actor starred in first film, Scooby Doo and the second movie, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

One fan wrote on Twitter: "First look at Ryan Gosling in the Freddie Prinze Jr. biopic titled 'FRED'," while another said: "Blonde Ryan Gosling looking just like Fred from the Scooby Doo movies."

And a third said: "Ryan gosling as fred in Scooby Doo reboot."

"Wait I just noticed it said Ryan gosling I thought it was the scooby doo guy," added a fourth.

Back in April, Warner Bros released a first look snap of Margot Robbie as Barbie. In the photo, Margot can be seen sitting in her Barbie-pink convertible dressed all in blue.

The Australian actor is set to play the lead role in the upcoming movie, which is directed by Greta Gerwig. Gosling and Robbie will star alongside Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu, Alexandra Shipp, America Ferrera and Ncuti Gatwa.

Speaking to Vogue about taking on the role, Robbie said: "Right, it comes with a lot of baggage! And a lot of nostalgic connections. But with that come a lot of exciting ways to attack it. People generally hear ‘Barbie’ and think, ‘I know what that movie is going to be,’ and then they hear that Greta Gerwig is writing and directing it, and they’re like, ‘Oh, well, maybe I don’t...’”

An IMDb synopsis explains: "A doll living in 'Barbieland' is expelled for not being perfect enough and sets off on an adventure in the real world. A Live-action feature film based on the popular line of Barbie toys."

The movie is set for release on 21 July 2023.
