Ozark Finale Trailer Teases Major Death And Reveals Netflix Release Date

The fourth and final season of the series is set to conclude this year.

Netflix has officially confirmed the release date for the final episodes of Ozark as a new trailer for the series teases a major death.

The first few episodes of the fourth and final season of Ozark were released on the streaming service last month, but fans of the show have been forced to be patient when it comes to find out how Marty and Wendy Byrde’s story will end.

Thankfully Netflix has now confirmed there are only a few more weeks to go until the binging can continue, as it announced the release date for the final episodes today, February 23.

Check out the trailer below:

Though the trailer marks the beginning of the end for the popular show, cast members Jessica Frances Dukes, Felix Solis, Skylar Gaertner and Madison Thompson have assured the ending is coming at the right time.

During a SAG Awards Panel last year, Solis, who stars as Omar Navarro, explained: 'All good things must come to an end. This was a good job that must come to an end. We don’t want to wait until it’s not good for it end.'

The second instalment of the final season comes after characters Darlene and Wyatt were killed at the hands of Javi. The Byrdes find themselves caught up in the chaos as Ruth threatens them with a gun and demands to know what happens.

The trailer appears to tease the death of Marty, played by Jason Bateman, as Ruth points a gun at him, though we'll have to wait and see whether he manages to make it out of the situation alive.

Having to wait to find out what happens to the characters is undoubtedly painful for fans, but Showrunner Chris Mundy has explained that splitting the final season into two parts was the 'perfect' move for the show.

Speaking to The Wrap, he explained: 'We always thought five [seasons] was the outside number. It just felt like after that – we didn’t want to repeat ourselves, we didn’t want the show to feel like it was continuing because it was a TV show and it had to continue. So really the decision has always been between is it four [seasons] or is it five [seasons]. And then Netflix hit upon the idea of saying, ‘We’ll do four but we’ll make it long and split it in this way,' and that felt perfect.'

Ozark Season 4 Part 2 is set to premiere on April 29.
