The R-rated trailer for Jennifer Lawrence's controversial new comedy film No Hard Feelings just dropped.

The film managed to raise eyebrows months before its release because of its cheeky plot about a woman trying to seduce a teen.

But despite the backlash - including claims that it promotes grooming - the original trailer, which was released earlier this year, proved to be a huge success online.

No Hard Feelings tells the wild story of a ‘desperate’ woman named Maddie who creates a bizarre plan to buy a new car. She’s down on her luck and in desperate need of some quick cash and is soon hired by a mom and dad to try and seduce their ‘un-f**kable’ 19-year-old son, played by Andrew Garth Feldman, before he goes to college.

The synopsis reads: "On the brink of losing her childhood home, Maddie discovers an intriguing job listing: wealthy helicopter parents looking for someone to 'date' their introverted 19-year-old son, Percy, before he leaves for college.

"To her surprise, Maddie soon discovers the awkward Percy is no sure thing."

Maddie is hired by Percy's parents to seduce him.

The first trailer for the comedy was released back in March and viewers were very much divided on how they felt about it.

The new trailer gives us a deeper look at Maddie’s sad life, an awkward encounter with an ex in a bar who is apparently engaged to someone new, and swearing galore.

One crazy scene shows Maddie being thrown into the sea after being launched off the front of Percy’s car.

Percy sits on Maddie's lap after she tries to seduce him.

We also get to see footage of Lawrence’s Maddie trying her best seduction techniques on the teen, which appears to include sitting and wiggling on his lap. But the encounter takes an awkward turn when he complains about his legs hurting underneath her weight, so they swap places.

    And he's into it!

The film, which will hit theatres next month, promises plenty of laughs, as the trailer shows Lawrence struggling to bond with the awkward 19-year-old she's been set up with.

During an initial attempt to bond, the terrified teen pepper sprays her in the face and a later effort to assert his masculinity sees him accidentally putting Maddie in the throat.

The trailer also shows Maddie attempting to show the 'unf**kable' Percy a good time by taking him skinny dipping.

No Hard Feelings will be released on June 23, 2023.
