The Saw franchise is bringing back another iconic character.

The trailer for Saw X, the latest installment in the franchise, has just dropped and it's just as terrifying and vomit-inducing as you would expect.

As previously hinted, the movie sees the return of Tobin Bell's John Kramer aka Jigsaw.

The villain met his end in Saw III, and only appeared in flashbacks in further films, but in Saw X he returns in all his torturous, bloody glory.

Speaking about Bell's return, producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg said: "What a thrill to be reuniting with Tobin. His performance as John Kramer is part of the magic that made this franchise a phenomenon and his character is an active part of this film.

"We have been listening to what the fans have been asking for and are hard at work planning a movie that Saw aficionados and horror fans alike will love."

Set between Saw I and II, the trailer opens in a hospital with John finding out he is terminally ill.

He heads to a remote location outside of Mexico City in hopes of finding a cure but then discovers it's just a scam.

He then delivers his iconic line: "It's time to play a game".

Chills.

As the trailer continues, the four medical staff involved in the scam become the next 'players' in Jigsaw's classic game of life or death.

"You all pretended to cure me, but what I have planned for each of you is very real," he says.

Right before the trailer ends, we get a glimpse of another iconic character from the franchise.

Amanda Young (played by Shawnee Smith) is seen removing a pig mask and smirking.

Yep, it looks like Jigsaw's victim-turned-assistant is also back to play the game and fans of the franchise could not be happier.

"And we are so happy to see her back," one person commented.

Another added: "MISSED HER SO BAD."

A third said: "im screamingggggggggggggggg."

The official description from Lionsgate reads: "The most disturbing instalment of the Saw franchise yet explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw's most personal game.

"Set between the events of Saw I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable.

"Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged, and ingenious traps."

At the end of a trailer there is a mysterious mobile number for fans to text 'I want to play a game'... if they dare.
