A Prime Video series starring Julia Roberts has landed an impressive 98 percent Rotten Tomatoes score.

It comes as the actress attends Venice Film Festival this week, ahead of the release of thriller movie After The Hunt.

And if you just can't wait to see Roberts star in the movie, then you can catch her in a top-rated Amazon Prime Video series instead.

The psychological thriller series actually marked the Hollywood star's small-screen debut.

Adapted from a Gimlet Media podcast, the show unfolds in two seasons as Roberts takes on the role of Heidi Bergman, a caseworker at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center.

The facility is run by the Geist Group that helps US military veterans reintegrate into civilian life.

Four years later, Heidi is living a quiet life as a waitress when a Department of Defense auditor starts questioning why she abruptly left the facility.

With her fragmented memory, Heidi revisits her past and begins to uncover a dark conspiracy tied to the program’s true intent.

The debut season follows two timelines: 2018, vivid and widescreen, shows Heidi deeply immersed in the facility, while the 2022 timeline, narrower and more confined, shows her piecing together the truth after being pulled back into an investigation.

The show ran between 2018 and 2020 and features standout performances from Janelle Monáe, Chris Cooper, Joan Cusack, Stephan James and Hong Chau.

The TV series in question is called Homecoming and it achieved a staggering 98 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Critics were impressed with how the show 'balances its haunting mystery with a frenetic sensibility that grips and doesn't let go.'

Fans also loved the drama, as one said: "Great thriller. Had a lot of uncomfortable feelings over here! Kept me going and interested 'till the end."

A second agreed: "I can't believe I hadn't heard about this when it was airing, has me hooked."

A third wrote: "Loved it. What a wonderful surprise. One of the best shows on Prime!"

Over on IMDB, fans hailed it a binge-worthy weekend watch as some admitted to devouring the series in a matter of days.

"Janelle Monáe nailed her role and the mystery kept you hooked until the very end," one said, adding: "We binge-watched the entire season in two days."

"I enjoyed the first season..." a second social media user began. "Having just binged the second season, I have to say it is even better."

Both seasons of Homecoming are streaming right now on Prime Video.
