Opinion is certainly divided over a new film starring Denzel Washington that is now on Netflix.

Netflix is known and loved for it's never ending selection of TV and movies to watch, and the streaming giant never fails to deliver.

So much so, the streaming giant has just dropped a 'bada*s' movie starring Denzel Washington... though reviews have been divided.

With a career spanning over four decades and having starred in the likes of Training Day, Flight, and Gladiator 2, it's baffling to hear that some aren't a huge fan of the actor's latest movie.

We are of course, talking about The Equalizer 3.

The Equalizer trilogy began back in 2014 with the release of the first action-thriller of the franchise.

Starring Washington as Robert McCall, it follows his turmoil between a peaceful life, and wanting to save a young girl from a group of gangsters.

Ten years on, the third instalment of McCall’s journey has been released, and it’s safe to say fans are pretty divided over what they think of it.

In the Equalizer 3, McCall finds himself in southern Italy at his home, but stumbles across his friends who are under the control of local crime bosses.

Events quickly turn south, and McCall has to step up and take on the mafia to protect his allies in the face of death.

The last two films in the trilogy seem to have gone down well with fans, but this time around, it looks as though they can’t agree.

Sending the film's praises, one person said: “Watched The Equalizer 3 on Netflix tonight. It was a lot better than 2. About as good as 1 in my opinion.

“Denzel is a bada*s per usual as well!”

Whilst another said: “So I finally watched the Equalizer 3 on Netflix. It was really good.

“I thought they were going to tie in Man on Fire somehow since this was the 2nd movie Dakota and Denzel were in as main characters. That would’ve been so epic!”

However, others weren’t as complimentary of the new thriller.

The Equalizer 3 has divided opinion amongst fans.
    Sony Pictures Entertainment.

One added: “Equalizer 3 was, I don’t know, kind of weak. I give it a 6/10, then Netflix got the nerve to have it locked!”

Another agreed: “I just tried to watch Equalizer 3 on Netflix. Now I know why it’s on Netflix.”

A third shared the same opinion: “You guys...I watched the Equalizer 3 on Netflix (no chill) the other night. If you haven't seen it... you don't need to.”

The film scored 76 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, but noted that the audience score was 94 percent, so it’s clear that a lot of people really enjoyed the new release.

It was bizarre to some that the film was already on Netflix, despite dropping in cinemas back in September 2023.

One said: “Equalizer 3 being on Netflix already goes crazy. It ain’t even been a full six months since it was released in theatres.”
