Jimmy Kimmel's late-night talk show will return tonight (September 23) after being 'pre-empted indefinitely'.
The host found himself in hot water after making comments about Donald Trump and his reaction to Charlie Kirk's death.
During last Monday's show (September 15), Kimmel said: "We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.
"And in between the finger-pointing, there was grieving on Friday. The White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level you can see how hard the president is taking this."

Kimmel went on to call out Trump for seemingly sidelining his grief and instead focusing on the construction of the White House's controversial new $200 million state ballroom.

"Yes, he’s at the fourth stage of grief: construction. Demolition, construction. This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish, OK?" Kimmel said.
ABC affiliates pulled Kimmel off air indefinitely, with ABC owners The Walt Disney Company following suit.

But in a new statement, Disney confirmed Kimmel's show would return after the suspension.
"Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country," the company said. "It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive.
"We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday."
Yet Sinclair Broadcast Group, the largest ABC affiliate, is still refusing to air the show across its channels.

Kimmel's Tuesday night comeback coincides with the rumored return of someone else: Jesus Christ.

That's right, people online have been freaking out ever since a pastor claimed God would be coming to 'rescue the Christians out of the world' on September 23 and 24.
South African Pastor Joshua Mhlakela claimed via a YouTube video that this week, God’s judgement would leave the world 'unrecognizable', alleging a rupture would occur with 'such power' that it would cause the Earth to 'shake'.

And - much like the way Trisha Paytas’ children’s births eerily coincided with the deaths of major public figures - social media users think we could be on to another strange pattern. This coincides with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year.
Taking to X, one person said in response to the news Kimmel would be returning on Tuesday: "Would be so funny if he goes live and the rapture starts in the studio."
A second hinted: "There's a rapture tomorrow and Jimmy Kimmel has a chance to do the funniest thing ever."

A third said: "Jimmy Kimmel’s returning on rapture day?? Coincidence??"
While a fourth responded: "Nothing is a coincidence. It's all connected."
Jimmy Kimmel Live! returns tonight at its usual time slot of 11.35 pm Eastern Time, 10.35 pm Central Time and 11.35 pm Pacific Time.
Whether or not the rapture will occur is to be seen...
