Why get actors to pretend to voice Kieran Culkin’s brothers when his actual siblings can do it themselves?

Excitingly, all five Culkin brothers have reportedly signed on to appear in an episode of The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy.

The forthcoming animated offering is a Prime Video project which stars Kieran Culkin as Dr. Plowp, Keke Palmer as Dr. Klak and Sam Smith as Dr. Azel.

Big Mouth's Maya Rudolph is also set to voice Dr. Vlam, while Russian Doll’s Natasha Lyonne and Everything, Everywhere All at Once’s Stephanie Hsu are credited as Nurse Tup and Dr. Sleech, respectively.

Check out the trailer for The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy below:

The upcoming show will follow intergalactically renowned surgeons Sleech and Klak as they attempt to cure patients of anxiety-eating parasites and STIs found in deep space.

A synopsis from Amazon reads: “In season one, doctors Sleech and Klak take on a highly dangerous and potentially groundbreaking case and, in doing so, put existence itself in jeopardy. Although considering their dismal personal lives, oblivion might be an improvement.”

In episode six of Cirocco Dunlap’s The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, Kieran’s character will be joined by his space siblings.

The quintet are due to unite as Plowp and Sleech are celebrating a holiday together - just as their romantic relationship is beginning to take shape.

So not only will Sleech have emotions and pressures to deal with but she’ll also have to put up with Plowp’s erratic brothers.

After being introduced to her co-worker’s siblings, however, Sleech will run from the scene and will later slip down a garbage chute.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Plowp’s four brothers will be voiced by Kieran’s actual siblings Macaulay Culkin, Christian Culkin, Shane Culkin and Rory Culkin.

The reported casting means that this will be the first time that all five Culkin brothers have acted together in a single TV or film project.

Macaulay Culkin will join his brothers Kieran, Rory, Christian and Shane in the new animated series.

41-year-old Keiran has previously starred in the Home Alone franchise with his older brother Macaulay, 43, and in My Summer Story with Christian, 37.

Elsewhere Rory, 34, has appeared alongside his 39-year-old sister Quinn Culkin in The Good Son.

He has also previously played younger versions of Macaulay in Donald Petrie’s Richie Rich and Kieran in 2002’s Igby Goes Down.

As well as voicing Plowp in the new adult animation, Kieran’s voice credits include Netflix’s Agent Elvis and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off as well as Robot Chicken and Long Live the Royals.

The first season of The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy is set to premiere on Prime Video on February 23.
