Bam Margera's return to Jackass will certainly come as a surprise given previous events, but here's the truth behind the actor's return.
Johnny Knoxville took to Instagram earlier this week to confirm a new Jackass film is in the works and is set to hit cinemas later this year.
He penned on social media: "Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang. We wanted to let you know that this summer Jackass is back!! We will see you in theatres June 26th. More to come but wanted you to hear it from us first!!"
As it turns out, Bam Magera would also be involved in this new project, which came as a bit of a shock to fans given Margera was removed from Jackass Forever, after reports the actor violated a 'wellness agreement'. The whole fiasco led to a lawsuit being filed and an out-of-court settlement bringing an end to the matter.
After all that was concluded, most film fanatics presumed all parties would never work together again, so the news Margera is returning for the newest Jackass is certainly surprising.

However, his cameo is not what you might expect, after Variety reports the actor will feature via never-before-seen archival footage.
The outlet claims Margera will not be filming any new stunts for the fifth Jackass instalment, though they note things may change.
UNILAD has reached out to Paramount for comment.
Margera has suffered from various health issues in recent years and has been in and out of rehab because of struggles with substance abuse.

The documentary The Curious Case of... Bam Margera delved into the difficulties Margera has been through over the years as the stunt performer struggled with addiction.
In the documentary, Margera's Jackass co-star, Steve-O, voiced his concerns regarding his friend.
Steve-O said it had been 'hard to watch' Margera struggling with addiction, saying that back when they first met he 'wasn’t interested in substance abuse at all'.

"People love a comeback story so much, but is that point going to come or is he going to be dead first? I don’t know," he said.
Margera appeared on Steve-O's Wild Ride! podcast previously to say that he 'basically was pronounced dead' on 8 December, 2022.
The actor said he had 'gnarly Covid' and he suffered with 'four seizures' where he almost bit his tongue off and was placed on life support.
After spending several days in hospital, he thankfully made a full recovery.
