It's one of the most iconic franchises of the 90s and 00s, but will American Pie make a return for the 2020s?
There's no doubt a lot of fans who would love to see the cast back in action, especially if it meant we got to see what the likes of Jim, Stifler, Michelle and Oz are like almost 30 years on from their band camp and apple pie antics.
We last saw the crew in 2012 for the fourth instalment, American Pie Reunion, and now star Jason Biggs has revealed whether we should hold out hope for a fifth movie.
The actor, who played Jim, spoke with The New York Post about the possibility of returning to the role while at the premiere of his new movie, Operation Gary Taco’s. Evidently, Biggs loves a food-themed movie title.

Anyway, the actor sparked hope when he admitted there is 'always talks' going on about rebooting the franchise.

He continued: “There’s always rumblings. I can tell you that I’d love to get back with everybody and do another one if it’s the right story.”
While news of reboots can instil fear in some fans who fear it will never live up to the original, Biggs is confident the cast could create something great.
He explained: “I think it would be so much fun. I love playing that character. I love working with those guys and gals. Everybody is just — it’s family, you know? So I’d love to do it. And honestly, I feel like enough people ask and there’s enough fans. Nostalgia is big right now.”
In 2024, actor Thomas Ian Nicholas, who played Kevin, revealed there was actually a script for American Pie 5, but negotiations tragically fell through at the time.
That hasn't stopped Biggs from thinking about where his character would be now though, and he acknowledged that a lot of time has passed since Jim was in high school. In fact, he thinks he might now be following in the shoes of Jim's dad, Noah, who was played by Eugene Levy.

Biggs said: "Boy, I think [Jim's] dealing with his high school age son going through a lot of the same antics and shenanigans that he was exposed to and he got himself into when he was in high school. So I imagine he is kind of taking on the Jim’s dad role, the Eugene Levy role.”
Meanwhile, Levy would of course be taking on the role of 'grandpa'.
"I imagine that’s sort of where he’s at," Biggs said. "That’s the stage of life that he finds himself in.”
You just know Jim would be terrible at having 'the talk' with his kids. Now we just need to see it on screen!
