A24 has dropped the trailer for its latest movie Civil War, and it's got everyone saying the same thing.

The teaser for the upcoming action flick has already taken the internet by storm, with many deeming it a chilling look into the near future.

Check it out:

"Props to A24, I don't think any other studio would dare to take on such a project. Looks promising indeed," one fan commented.

Another added: "This looks incredible, and the Jesse Plemons scene is CHILLING. He's so good at that role of discomfort."

While a third agreed: "This looks fantastic. And Kirsten Dunst comes across incredibly well in the trailer. Will add this to my watchlist for sure!"

The flick is set in war-torn America.

The movie comes courtesy of Men, Ex Machina, and Annihilation director Alex Garland and is set in the near future as the United States is in the midst of a civil war.

With the country tearing itself apart, it's a deeply uncomfortable watch for many.

The official description of the film reads: "Civil War is an upcoming American epic war film written and directed by Alex Garland. The film stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Cailee Spaeny."

The movie stars Kirsten Dunst and Wagner Moura.

The trailer shows forces from California and Texas making their way to the White House to take on the president (played by Nick Offerman).

We see armed forces attempted to infiltrate Washington, DC, with the ominous tagline 'all empires fall'.

It's hard to glean too much more from the short trailer, but seeing the scenes of a US on the brink and turning into a war zone will send a chill up the spine of any viewers.

While we don't know much else about the plot, what we do know is that Dunst and Moura play wartime photographers chasing the horrific story we see unfold, while Plemons stars an American soldier who seems to have some seriously dark energy, too.

It's left people feeling uneasy.

So far, the trailer has generated some serious buzz online.

Entertainment Tonight praised Plemons' performance in particular, writing "The intense clip is full of harrowing images, but perhaps none more so than a standoff between Wagner Moura's character and an armed man played by Jesse Plemons."

The film is scheduled for release on April 26, 2024.

Will you be tuning in, or has the trailer creeped you out too much?
